Anupam Kher gets Kalidas Samman

Veteran film and drama artist Anupam Kher has been awarded with the All India Kalidas Samman (Rangkarma) for the year 2011 on Saturday here. The 55th All India Kalidas Samaroh, instituted by the MP Government, opened here in a traditional way and state culture, higher education minister Laxmikant Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Kher said he has been waiting for the honour for the last 5-6 years. “Whenever I feel my acting prowess has rusted a bit, I promptly play a drama, it not only improved one's acting skills but teaches us life as well”. He said initially he earned a mere Rs 5 for his dramas. The senior actor also presented his much appreciated solo play titledKuch bhi ho sakta haiat the event.
