Anupam Kher Rubbishes Calling Rekha A ‘Vamp’

With the release of Rekha’s biography, there were more than few bombs to be dropped. The book, which is called ‘A biography — Rekha: The Untold Story’  by author Yasser Usman had quoted one of the phrases from veteran actor Anupam Kher question yesteryear actor’s santity, if book is to be believed. More than that, director Subhash Ghai lamented Rekha too after the suicide of her husband.

As per the biography, Anupam said, “She has become the national vamp. Professionally and personally … I don’t know how will I react if I come face to face with her”. However, the Shaaransh actor was quick to respond, “Apparently in a book about Rekha ji, some lines r attributed to me. It is all RUBBISH & NOT my language. I have the Greatest regard for her”, he tweeted.

The book also mentioned Subhash Ghai as saying, “Rekha has put such a blot on the face of the film industry that it’ll be difficult to wash it away easily. I think after this any respectable family will think twice before accepting any actress as their bahu”. Her husband was found hanging in his Delhi house by Rekha’s dupatta in year 1990.
