Bajirao Mastani to release on December 18

Tinsel town is abuzz with speculations about Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious project Bajirao Mastani being postponed. If rumours are to be believed then the reasons for the delay are shooting of the film running behind the schedule and clash of release date with Shah Rukh Khan and Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale.

Bajirao Mastani is Bhansali’s much awaited historical romantic flick which narrates the story of Maratha PeshwaBaji Rao (Ranveer Singh) and his second wife Mastani (Deepika Padukone). Bajirao’s first wife and mother’s roles are being played by Priyanka Chopra and Tanvi Azmi, respectively. The soundtracks for the movie are also being composed by the filmmaker himself.

A source close to the Devdas director said, “The film is being shot on a war footing, pun intended. There are many never-seen-before war scenes, dances and dramatic confrontations. But Sanjay is on schedule. In fact, he didn’t even know about Shah Rukh’s plans or that there was talk of the film being postponed”. A spokesperson from Eros International stated, “We are gearing up for a December 18 release and theatres are being blocked accordingly. The trailer will be coming out soon”.
