Balaji Motion Pictures bags Udta Punjab rights for 50 Crores

Went under production just a few days ago, Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor and Diljit Dosanjh starrer Udta Punjab has found a new taker to make it sail through. The film which is being made under the production of Phantom Films, will now also be backed by Balaji Motion Pictures.

Balaji has reportedly acquired the rights of the film at a cost of 50 crores which perhaps also includes the satellite rights. With a production of Phantom films and distribution of Balaji Motion Pictures, Udta Punjab now has a heavy backing of prolific banners. The film has just gone into production and is currently being shot in Punjab’s Amritsar. Based on the growing drug issue in state of Punjab, the film is being directed by Abhishek Chaubey.
