B.O. Update: Baby hits 50 crore mark, Dolly Ki Doli mints 15

The positive word of mouth has taken Neeraj Pandey’s Baby to a strong slot making it hit the 50 crore mark in just 4 days. Thanks to the extended weekend of Republic day, the collections have been pretty welcoming for the producers.

After having opened to a modest 9.4 crores, the Akshay Kumar starrer multiplied its biz (thanks to a positive verdict) and ended its opening weekend at 36.5 crores. Monday added an extra 14.9 crores taking the total collections up to 50.97 crores. Meanwhile Sonam Kapoor starrer Dolly Ki Doli remained dull though on its opening day, the film performed well despite average reviews. The film opened to some 2.5 crores on Friday but ended the 4 day opening weekend at 15 crores.

The figures suggest that the audiences had quite a few options to watch this weekend. The weekdays performances of both these films will now determine the long run fate. While Baby is a clear winner looking at the trend, it will be interesting to see how well it continues to hold its position.
