B.O. Update: Kill Dil underperforms on opening weekend
Updated : November 17, 2014 02:31 PM ISTWell the opening number will not be as satisfying as the Kill Dil makers would have hoped. Forget about killing, Kill Dil opening weekend hasn’t even made a noticeable effect at the box office. After having opened on an average response on Friday, the film didn’t witness any major growth on subsequent days.
Yashraj’s Kill Dil opened to a middling 6.50 crores on Friday that took a lot of pundits by surprise since they were expecting a much bigger figure on the opening day. The film marked no improvement on Saturday and ended with 6.25 crores. The big Sunday that could have made the big difference also disappointed with putting just 7.25 crores into the kitty. The film now stands at an opening weekend figure of 20 crores, which could certainly not be considered a healthy figure.
With an impressive cast and solid backing, the makers would have at least hoped for a 30 crore close weekend but the average word of mouth perhaps made the big dent. However, the film could still recover its cost since it is made on a low outlay with moderate budget. The weekdays collection would now come as very crucial.
