Celebrities react on Twitter after massive earthquake shook Nepal
Updated : April 06, 2016 10:59 AM IST Several Bollywood actors took to Twitter to express their concerns over the destruction of lives and properties in earthquake-hit Nepal. Actors prayed for the well being of people and shared several images and helpline numbers with their followers. The earthquake that shook Nepal on Saturday has left over 2,000 people dead and many injured.

The Bollywood megastar, Amitabh Bachchan, posted on Twitter,” "In the face of such disaster, we mourn with them that have been displaced or lost to the heavens. It is a most horrid site to see those buildings in absolute destruction... some of them of great heritage value”. The 72-year-old had shot a popular song from 1983 film Mahaan at an iconic location in Kathmandu.

On the other hand, Popular Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan shared helpline numbers with their fans. “May Allah look after all. Here r the emergency contact numbers for Nepal,share, help. Prayers with all in Nepal,” tweeted SRK, who was recently in the country for the promotion of Kansai Paints. During his visit he described Nepal as beautiful place and also wished to visit the Himalayan country with his kids in the future.

Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala, who hails from Nepal, applauded Indian government for quickly coming to Nepal's rescue after the devastating earthquake. Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi she wrote on her micro-blogging site Twitter,” "Tears roll down after seeing all this... My heartfelt thanks to Indian help... In such times their quick (and) effective help will be forever be embedded in our memories... Thank you Prime Minister Modi”. The actress is the granddaughter of B.P. Koirala, Nepal's first elected prime minister.
