Chennai Express derails 3 Idiots from No. 1 position

It seems that Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express was released to break all the previous box office records. The movie first became the fastest entrant in the Rs. 100 crores club and then made its smashing entry in the Rs. 200 crores club. Now, the movie has beaten Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots and has grabbed the No. 1 seat in this club.

Aamir Khan starrer 3 Idiots (2009) had banked Rs. 202 and now Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express has surpassed this benchmark. Chennai Express is still going strong at the box office and the movie’s next competitor, Satyagraha – Democracy Under Fire is set to release on Aug. 30. Thus it gives a fair chance to Chennai Express to earn more money and to make its No. 1 position unbeatable.
