Confirmed: Ranveer Singh To Star In Aditya Chopra’s Comeback Directorial Befikre

After a lot of speculations, Yash Raj Films has confirmed that Ranveer Singh has been roped in to play the lead role in Aditya Chopra's much-awaited comeback directorial Befikre: Those Who Dare to Love. This is going to be the first time that Adi is directing a film without his close friend Shah Rukh Khan. His previous ventures Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Mohabbatein and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi had SRK in playing the lead role.

The news came in with a video featuring Ranveer, which was uploaded on YRF’s official Twitter handle. In the video the Gunday actor talks about how he bagged his debut film Band Baaja Baaraat and his collaboration with YRF once again. He says, “Now five years later, it has been a journey... It was always my dream to star in Adi sir's movie, to be directed by my mentor, something which will be truly special to me. The news is overwhelming and I again cried. Adi saw me crying and said, 'You can do it’”.

The leading lady of the film is yet-to-be finalised. The speculations are rife that Vaani Kapoor, who is under three-film contract with YRF, has been roped in for the project. Earlier, grapevine was abuzz that Anushka Sharma is under consideration for the role. However, nothing can be said to be confirmed until an official announcement is made.
