Deepika Padukone Disappointed With National Awards Results?

After the National Awards were given out, the team of ‘Bajirao Mastani’ came together for an impromptu after party. Celebrities including Ranveer Singh, Sonam Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were present but what’s surprising is the absence of ‘Mastani’ herself. Deepika Padukone did not attend the party and speculations have stirred up regarding her absence.

According to an invitee, “She was back in India for a day, the day the National awards were announced, before returning to shoot for her Hollywood film. She expressed her inability to be present at the party due to a prior comment”. While this sounds completely plausible, another source states, “She was really hurt by the National awards snub. She had won all the popular awards for her performance in Piku and Bajirao Mastani. She expected the National award too. When it didn’t happen she lost her appetite to celebrate with her Bajirao Mastani team”.

‘Bajirao Mastani’ won multiple National Awards which included Best Director for Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Best Supporting Actress for Tanvi Azmi, Best Choreography for Remo D’Souza and others. The movie starred Ranveer Singh, Deepika and Priyanka Chopra in leading roles. Recently, the director also stated that he wanted Deepika or Priyanka to win the National Award for Best Actress.
