Deepika Padukone opts for Bajirao Mastani, ditches Shuddhi?

Finally filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali can breathe with relief as his latest favourite, Deepika Padukone, has not refused his offer to enact Mastani in his film, Bajirao Mastani. This historical love story, which has been in the queue for last ten years, has finally got its leading stars on its board, Ranveer Singh as Bajirao and Deepika as Mastani.

Along with Bhansali, filmmaker-producer Karan Johar also announced that his film, Shuddhi, will open in December 2015, which is the same month of release for Bajirao Mastani. Both the films have grand scripts and the actors need to devote a lot of time for both the projects, including their shooting as well as promotions. Hence Deepika had to choose one. Earlier it was learnt that Deepika is confirmed for Shuddhi but it’s believed that her admiration for Bhansali has worked in helping her decide the ultimate. Besides, Bajirao Mastani will give her the opportunity to spend more time with her rumoured real-life boyfriend, Ranveer, too.
