Eros and Sajid Nadiadwala confirm Housefull 3, No Sajid Khan this time

After much wait rather higher speculations, Eros International and producer Sajid Nadiadwala have confirmed they’re going ahead with the third instalment of the Housefull series. Interestingly, the man who created this franchise will not be a part of this project and writer/director duo Farhad-Sajid will helm the film.

Both Housefull and Housefull 2 have been extremely successful at the box office and the makers are hoping that the next part too will fetch a good response. However with Sajid Khan’s Himmatwala and Humshakals blasting like duds, the producers will not bank on him to direct the third Housefull. Housefull and Housell 2 have been two of the hit films that Sajid Khan has made but unfortunately his recent form has made the makers keep him out of the next instalment. Writer duo who turned director with Akshay Kumar’s Entertainment will reportedly take the director’s chair. The principle cast of Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh will be retained while Abhishek Bachchan will make a fresh entry in the mad house. Kriti Sanon will play the female lead.

Confirming the project, Eros statement said, “We share a special relationship with Sajid that goes back several decades and are excited to have Sajid back with us. What better film to start with than the third instalment of the hit franchise Housefull. It promises to be a star studded laugh riot shot lavishly in the UK, Sajid Nadiadwala style.” Even Sajid commented on the projected confirming and said “I'm happy to team up with Eros once more for this very popular series. Housefull 3 will be bigger and funnier and we are confident together we will once again successfully present some wholesome entertainment to audiences worldwide.” The project is expected to go on the floors soon and will release in the later part of 2015.
