Golmaal 4 Release Date Shifted To Avoid Clash With Akshay, Rajinikanth’s 2.O

Handling the situation in a more matured way, Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty has decided not to release their upcoming film Golmaal 4 on the same date with 2.O starring Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth. Earlier, both the movie were releasing on Diwali 2017 that is falling on October 19. But it seems like Shetty has no intention of locking horns with S. Shankar’s 2.O.

Last year, the director had already faced the consequences of letting Dilwale clash with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani. The former got crushed by the latter at the Box Office, even though it starred the most loved on screen couple, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Hence, rather than making an egoistic decision this time, the director has decided to shift the release date of Golmaal 4 and not to release it on the same Friday as Akshay’s 2.O.

A source close to the development has confirmed the flying rumours and stated, “Rohit’s films have always released in Diwali week as they represent the bright, happy, larger-than-life festive spirit. But Rohit is very clear that he won’t release on the same day as 2.O. He’s a huge fan of Rajinikanth and he’s grown up on the South superstar’s films and has too much respect for the senior actor to clash with his film on the same day”.

Golmaal 4, which will be called Golmaal Again, also stars Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu. It is also being heard that Shraddha Kapoor will now be the leading lady of the movie owing to Kareena Kapoor’s pregnancy. However, Bebo will reportedly have a cameo role in the movie.
