Guess Who Was The First Choice For The Lead Role In NH10?

Last year’s critically acclaimed film ‘NH10’ starred Anushka Sharma in the lead role and was well received at the box office. The movie brought in Rs. 13.30 crore and became the fifth-biggest opening weekend grosser of 2015. Now, Mid-Day has reported that Anushka wasn’t the original choice for the film and that the role was first given to Freida Pinto.

According to the report, the Slumdog Millionaire actress was initially offered the movie. During the time of casting, another production got involved and so did Anushka Sharma. This caused the filmmakers to reconsider and rope in Anushka for the role. The movie was produced by Anushka’s production house, Clean Slate Films, along with Phantom Films.

Freida Pinto is known internationally for her roles in Hollywood films including ‘Immortals’, ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’, ‘Knight of Cups’ and a few others. Her other projects include the 2011 film ‘Trishna’, the 2013 documentary ‘Girl Rising’ and the upcoming drama ‘Love Sonia’, along with ‘Slumdog Millionaire’. ‘Love Sonia’ has been directed by Tabrez Noorani and will be released on March 3 next year.
