Gulaab Gang to release tomorrow, Delhi High Court lifts ban

It has been a hellish situation for the upcoming flick Gulaab Gang’s producers and cast as the movie was halted till May 8 by an order passed by Delhi High Court but now, everything is under control as the plea filed by Gulabi Gang leader Sampat Pal has been rejected. Gulaab Gang will now release nationwide on its scheduled date i.e. tomorrow, March 7.

The news has just surfaced from a reliable source and High Court’s decision was changed after the film’s producers put their plea forward. Sampat Pal claimed day before yesterday that the film is based on her and her organisation and no permission has been taken from them to do so. She also argued that there is certain defamatory content in the movie that can harm the image of her organisation "which cannot be calculated in terms of money".

Gulaab Gang, starring Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla in the lead roles, centralises the struggle of women in the country. Madhuri is portraying the head of a gang, who fights back against ill and wears a pink saree and Juhi will be seen in a negative character of a politician. Directed and written by Soumik Sen, the film is financed by Alumbra Entertainment, Anubhav Sinha and Abhinay Deo. The distribution rights of the same have been acquired by Sahara Movie Studios.
