Happy Ending has a low frail opening weekend

Call it mood of the people, box office unpredictability, lack of appropriate placing and promotion or a complete failure at delivering, whatever it may be but the opening weekend for Happy Ending hasn’t been happy at all. The film remained much low in its first three days thus sounding an alarm for the makers who would have expected something better for sure.

The Saif Ali Khan starrer that opened on a weedy 3.75 crores on Friday, showed a slight growth with 4.25 crores on Saturday and 5 crores on Sunday. The opening weekend thus stood at a mere 13 crores. Now that’s definitely not what a mainstream romantic comedy starring the A-listers would earn. With solid amount of promotion, the film just couldn’t take off the way it should have. The reviews have also been on an average note with the film working only in patches. This could certainly harm the box office journey of this Raj and DK directed flick if the weekdays don’t hold up well. Without even a major box office competition present at the counters, the figures have been fairly poor. Let’s wait and see if there’s a considerate change happening there soon.
