High Expectations from Sushant Singh Rajput for Dhoni Biopic

Sushant Singh Rajput will be playing the Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the upcoming Dhoni biopic. India is a nation of cricket fans who won’t accept any kind of ‘lack of effort’ from the payers, as well as the movie stars who portray the players. Sushant was recently approached by a fan who said, “Beta, Dhoni ke role ki izzat rakh lena”.

Sushant spoke to Hindustan Times and said, “As an actor, there is always a responsibility when you are portraying any character on screen. You have to meet your own expectations, [because] you want a large percentage of audience to come and watch the film. As for Dhoni, he is an inspiration, and is loved by millions. The incredible response after the [film’s] announcement only punctuates the massiveness of the project, and we will make sure the biopic transcends general expectations”.

Directed by Neeraj Pandey, the Dhoni biopic will begin filming on August 23. Sushant is known for his role in movies like Kai Po Che!, Shuddh Desi Romance and PK. Though, his last film Detective Byomkesh Bakshy couldn’t gather the expected appreciation from the fans.
