Himmatwalas remake will not be a remake: Sajid Khan

Mumbai -- Bollywood filmmaker Sajid Khan is planning to do a remake of Jeetendra-Sridevi starrer Himmatwala with Ajay Devgn but claims that it will be very different from the original film. "I am making 'Himmatwala' again. In 2013, the film will complete 30 years. Forget about today's generation, even two generations-old would not know about this film. It is not a classic film like Mughal-E-Azam, Sholay, Deewar, but was blockbuster movie," Sajid was quoted as saying by PTI. Khan claimed that his take on Himmatwala will be different as the film is re-written and will not be a remake. For two months I have been re-writing it... first time someone would have spent so much time on re-writing a remake. I have grown up watching this film...have seen it 36 times," the director said. Though, he accepted that some elements from the old film will be retained. The director has confirmed Ajay Devgns finalization as the male protagonist, but he is still looking for the leading lady.
