I can't work with male chauvinists: Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar quits Aakasha Mittai
Updated : March 30, 2017 11:26 AM ISTTamil actor Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar has quit the upcoming Malayalam film Aakasha Mittai after facing “crass treatment” from the films production side. The actor tweeted about her experience on Tuesday.
The film is the Malayalam remake of last year’s Tamil sleeper hit Appa.
On Tuesday, Varalaxmi tweeted: “Thank you Samuthirakani sir and Jayaram sir for having supported my decision. I can’t work with male chauvinists and mannerless producers.”

When IANS caught up with her at the second edition of IIFA Utsavam 2017, she said that she didn’t like the “crass” treatment of the makers. “I don’t want to comment on the issue. I just didn’t get along with the producers. The way they were handling things was very crass,” she said.

Actor-filmmaker Samuthirakani, who helmed the Tamil version, is directing the Malayalam version as well.
Meanwhile, Varalaxmi awaits the release of Tamil action-thriller Vikram Vedha.
