Jaya Bachchan to foray into television industry with a fiction show?

Reports are doing rounds that veteran Bollywood actress Jaya Bachchan may debut on the small screen with a fiction show on Sony Entertainment channel. It has been reported that the actress has been urged to take part in a fiction show and, according to sources, the actress is likely to give a nod to the proposal. The nature and content of the show is yet unknown.

Sources close to the latest developments said, "She is likely to appear in the main lead on a fiction show on Sony Entertainment Channel. The show will be produced by Endemol.” Endemol India Managing Director Deepak Dhar could not be contacted though for further confirmation. Quite interestingly, Jaya's husband-superstar Amitabh Bachchan will also be making his debut in a small screen fiction on the same channel. Jaya Bachchan is a well-established name in the Hindi film industry, thanks to her films like Guddi, Uphaar, Kora Kagaz, Zanjeer, Abhimaan, Chupke Chupke, Mili, Sholay, to name a few. Recently Jaya appeared in films like Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa (1998), Fiza, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag and so on.
