John Abraham: Romantic Films Don’t Work For Me

With three action films lined up for release this year, namely Rocky Handsome, Dishoom and Force 2, John Abraham says that romance is a genre that perhaps doesn’t belong to him. Going by his past record, the actor says that romantic films haven’t worked for him. The 43-year-old actor insists that he makes sure that the films he signs are different from the ones he has done in the past and hence if ever he signs a romantic film in future, it “has to have edge like it did in Jism”.

Mumbai Mirror quoted the actor as saying, “All my comedy and action films have been superhits. The only films that have not worked for me are romantic. Romance has to have edge like it did in Jism. That kind of romance works, but the conventional stuff is boring”.

“If you ask me to do a dance number, I won't do it unless the film requires me to do. I will do it when there is a need to do it”, he added. John, who has also been roped in for Hera Pheri 3, says that action-comedy is his favourite genre. Meanwhile, he is gearing up for the release of Rocky Handsome which is all set to hit the theatres this week on Februray 5.
