John Abraham Ventures Into Web Series

Recently, it was reported the Aligarh actor Rajkummar Rao venturing into Hansal Mehta’s web series which would explore the life and times of Subhas Chandra Bose. The web series will be produced by Ekta Kapoor’s ALT Balaji, who also gave him his big break in Love,Sex Aur Dhoka and Ragini MMS. Following his footsteps, there is another B-town actor who will be soon entering into the digital world.

Actor John Abraham is the latest Bollywood actor who will be soon debuting in web series. The 44-year-old star has signed a three web series deal with digital entertainment channel, Amazon Prime. "The producer in him decided to make this move. John understands that the market is drastically changing and wanted JA Entertainment to do path-breaking work on the platform. While he will continue producing films, his team will work on three web series for Amazon,” said a source.

Gossip mills are churning rumours that the actor-turned producer will collaborate with his long-time associate Shoojit Sircar for the web series. John has earlier worked with Shoojit in 'Vicky Donor' (2012) and 'Madras Cafe' (2013). It is believed that John and Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer, '1911', directed by Shoojit Sircar, will be converted into a web series. ‘1911’ narrates a century-old story of Mohun Bagan's, a Kolkata-based football club, win over an English football team in 1911.
