Juhi Chawla showers praises on “best” co-star Madhuri Dixit

Once they were known for being arch rivals in the industry and now they look like closest buddies. We are talking about Juhi Chawla amd Madhuri Dixit who will be sharing screen space together for the first time ever in Gulaab Gang. And according to the elegant Juhi, the ‘dhak dhak’ girl has been "one of the best co-stars" so far.

While attending a party for the film Juhi said, "I enjoyed working in 'Gulaab Gang' because I was working with Madhuri in the film. First time we shot the scenes with each other.” She added further, "I think she (Madhuri Dixit) has been one of my best co-stars.” Gulaab Gang is based on the 'Gulabi Gang' created by Sampat Pal in Uttar Pradesh who fights for women’s survival and advancement in the contemporary society. While Madhuri will be seen in the lead role, Juhi will play a negative character in the film.

While Juhi started her Bollywood career in 1986 with Sultanat, Madhuri made her debut in 1984 with Abodh. But commercial success for Juhi came in 1988 with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak while Madhuri became a familiar face with her dance steps in Ek do teen number in Tezaab. Juhi also remembered the days of their competition, "There was a time when we were arch rivals and that rivalry remained for many years. We used to talk little bit. Whenever we met at any function or on the set of the film....just said 'hello' and moved ahead.” But as Juhi is looking forward to Gulaab Gang with a whole new mindset, she stated, "After so many years, we both have got an opportunity to work together in a film. Besides, when I accepted that the script is very strong and she (Madhuri) is the hero and I am the villain in the film, it became very easy to work in the film.”
