Kaatru Veliyidai: Plot of Mani Ratnam's upcoming romance is out

The plot of Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai has been officially posted on the website of British censor board, British Board of Film Certification (BBFC).

“A military pilot, being held as a prisoner of war, remembers his romance with a local doctor,” reads the film’s synopsis on BBFC’s website. The run-time of the movie has been revealed as 146 minutes.

Going by the plot, the viewers on social media have already started playing guessing games that the story shares wide similarities between Mani Ratnam’s previous films such as Roja and Maryaan.

Produced by Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies, Kaatru Veliyidai features Karthi in the role of a fighter pilot and Aditi Rao Hydari plays a doctor. The movie will be released by leading distributor Sri Thenandal Films in Tamil Nadu. While veteran producer-distributor Dil Raju will release the Telugu version Cheliya in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states, Shibu Thameens will take care of the film’s theatrical release in Kerala.

Kaatru Veliyidai, which also stars RJ Balaji, Shraddha Srinath, KPAC Lalitha, Delhi Ganesh, and Mir Sarwar in important roles, is slated to hit screens on April 7.
