Kareena is Begum of Pataudi even without converting to Islam: Sharmila Tagore

Putting a rest to all the rumours about Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor’s religious conversion prior to her wedding toNawab of PataudiSaif Ali Khan, yesteryear actress and her mother-in-law Sharmila Tagore revealed that “she's still a Hindu”. Sharmila said, Kareena hasn't converted herself to Islam, hence, despite her marriage to Saif, who is a Muslim, she's still a Hindu but irrespective of her religion theTalaashactress is definitely theBegum of Pataudi. "He (Saif) is theNawab, so Kareena is theBegum". In an interview with a leading daily, she heaped praise on her superstarbahu, saying “Bebo is a very quiet and an easy person”.

In the meantime reports have come that Kareena has refused many Rs 6 to 8 crore offers to perform at high-profile weddings as she doesn’t want to harm the reputation of her newly-wed husband Saif’s royal family. According to sources, she has been flooded with numerous offers to dance to the hitFevicol senumber ofDabangg 2at wedding functions across India but the actor has been turning all of them down. “Organisers are willing to cough up anything from Rs. 6 cr to Rs. 8 cr for these acts, but Kareena does not want to do anything that could even remotely harm the reputation of her family”. “Saif belongs to the royal family of Pataudi and Kareena probably took the decision keeping her in-laws’ status in mind,” a source said. Kareena confirmed the news, saying, “My family is looked at with immense respect and I will never do anything to embarrass them. I can’t even think of dancing at weddings, especially from now on. Being a youth icon, I do not want to set a wrong example. This is a decision made by me and I will stick to it.”
