‘Kashibai is a tortured soul’, says Priyanka Chopra

Former Miss World Priyanka Chopra, who has been always applauded for her acting skills, finds the role of Kashibai a bit challenging. The Barfi star will be seen portraying the role of Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao’s first wife in Bajirao Mastani. She finds the role of Kashibai in the film emotionally draining and traumatizing. 

Priyanka said, “I haven't dealt with such emotions. I needed to find out a way to feel those emotions to portray the same. In those times, the women did not say as much, so it's mostly expressions. I am not vocal. I have a poignant role, where Kashibai is a tortured soul". Desi Girl also added that for the first few days she felt so emotionally drained that she could not talk to people around.

Ranveer Singh is playing the role of Bajirao and Deepika Padukone will be seen playing his second wife Mastani. Both Deepika and Priyanka will be seen performing lavani together in the film. The upcoming Indian historical romantic film will be directed and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
