Khoobsoorat Vs Daawat-e-Ishq-e-Ishq : A ‘Beautiful’ Vs ‘Delicious’ Friday in waiting

The big filmy Friday is finally here. Tomorrow the box office will witness the clash of the two youth oriented movies made in the modern day. Daawat-e-Ishq will have a faceoff with Khoobsoorat tomorrow and the silver lining here is that both carry a dissimilar line of approach. While no one expects either of the two films to just fire the box office up, a decent bequest of collections is still supposed.

Having been promoted with a target audience set in mind, the makers are hoping to cash in on the youth. While Daawat-e-Ishq is a Yashraj product, Khoobsoorat is produced by Sonam Kapoor’s father Anil Kapoor and producer Siddharth Roy Kapoor. When both films are put in retrospect, Daawat-e-Ishq has a more massy appeal than Khoobsoorat. With a brand like Yashraj, director like Habib Faisal and youth adored actors like Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapoor, Daawat-e-Ishq definitely holds an edge over Sonam Kapoor’s Khoobsoorat but box office is a game of unpredictability and anything can happen. It’s interesting yet ironic that the biggest USP Khoobsoorat seems to carry along is a Pakistani actor making his debut in a Hindi film. Yes, Fawad Khan who is widely loved by the females in India and across the border may surely bring some wonders for the movie. His television show ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’ was not just accepted but exceedingly loved by the Indian audience. Though Sonam Kapoor leads the cast here.

The music of both movies may perhaps be at par and is not expected to play any advantage. In all totality, Daawat-e-Ishq has a deliciousness attached to it and is being touted as a delicious love story while Khoobsoorat is being tagged as a royal love story. What remains common is the factor of ‘love’. Let’s just see who the audience votes for. Deliciousness or beauty?
