Line of sequels for Sunny Deol; first Ghayal Returns now Border 2

It seems that the filmmakers are now focusing on capitalizing the success that they had with their first films by making their sequels. Director J.P. Dutta has decided to make the sequel of his 1997 blockbuster film Border after a gap of over a decade and a half. The maker has already roped in Sunny Deol to play the role of a Commanding Officer in the sequel though rest of the star cast is yet to be finalized. The first part featured Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Tabu, Akshaye Khanna, Pooja Bhatt and Raakhee in the lead roles.

Border was based on the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. It is being reported that the second part will go on the floors by the end of October this year. Earlier, there were reports that the sequel of the 1990 hit-flick Ghayal will also be making its way to the big screen. And, Sunny informed, “Ghayal was about a character, so we are now taking the character ahead. He was in jail and now it has been over 20 years since. He will come out (of jail) and what he will be doing, will be the story.” Rahul Rawail will be directing Ghayal Returns.
