Sanjay Dutt Walks Out Of Yerwada Jail After Spending 42 Months In Prison
Updated : April 06, 2016 11:03 AM ISTSanjay Dutt walks out of Yerwada jail as a free man after serving his five-year term in possession of an AK-47 rifle in the aftermath of 1993 Bombay blasts. He was prosecuted under Terrorists And Disruptive Activities (TADA) and was arrested in 1993, after his bail he was re-arrested in 1995 and released in 1997. After a series of hearings and legal implications, Sanjay Dutt was arrested in 2013 for five years, of which he had already served 18 months in jail.
As Sanjay Dutt walked out of jail, wife Manyata Dutt and filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani waited for his arrival. Dutt came out with a bag of his belongings and a file. He saluted the national flag and as we talk, he must have boarded the flight from Pune Airport to go back home.

During his imprisonment, Sanjay Dutt worked as a semi-skilled worked and earned a salary of Rs. 38,000 over five years. But reducing his expenses from the jail canteen, he walks out with Rs 450 as his earnings. From 2013 to the date of his release he was granted a parole for 90 days in December 2013 and 30 days later.
