Many prominent film personalities expected to attend Kumbh Mela

Many Bollywood biggies, including actor Akshay Kumar with wife Twinkle Khanna, Jimmy Shergill, Irrfan Khan, Ashutosh Rana and Rajpal Yadav and filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia, may be heading to Allahabad in the coming few days to attend the Kumbh Mela, which began today. Besides thedesistars, Hollywood celebs Richard Gere, David Lynch, Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas are also expected to attend the mega event. Director Neeraj Pathak, who is a native of Allahabad, also plans to shoot some Kumbh sequence for his Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel starrer filmBhaiyajee Superhit.

He said, "Since the film is based on UP, so the Kumbh Mela is sure to figure in this. I would be coming in the end of January to explore the possibilities and would bring my actors in February for the shoot.” Zeta Jones recently said in an interview that she wants to visit the mela along with her actor husband Douglas. "I really want to visit India again specifically during the Kumbh Mela pilgrimage and I'm told it is a sight to behold for the eyes and soul. I'm hoping to find what I'm looking for here. I'm trying to make this happen with my family. If that doesn't work out I'm definitely coming on my own," she said.
