Mardaani trailer out, Rani Mukerji back in full action

No One Killed Jessica actress Rani Mukerji is back from her sabbatical and that too in an action-packed avatar. The Yash Chopra bahu has proved yet again with Mardaani that acting is still very much left in her blood. The first official trailer of the film, which revolves around child sex trafficking, is out which shows Rani as a powerful cop battling against all the odds to bring an order in the society.

The power-packed performance of Rani in the film, as evident from the trailer, is enough to put a full-stop to all kind of criticism against her acting prowess which came under questioning after her fiasco with Aiyya. Produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Pradeep Sarkar, Mardaani shows Rani as Shivani Shivaji Roy, based on a true story of an officer from the Mumbai Crime Branch unit. A statement said, "The film's story takes an interesting curve when a teenage girl is kidnapped by the child trafficking mafia and smuggled outside the city. Shivani then embarks on a relentless hunt for the girl and what follows is a cat and mouse game between the fearless cop and a ruthless mafia kingpin.” With a strong screen presence and an amazing performance, Rani is all set to steal the show with her kicks, slaps and punches, carrying the film on her own shoulders. The trailer comes with a hint that Mardaani is going to be a must-watch as it gets released on August 22. This will be also the first release for Rani after her marriage and we wish her all the best for her new venture.
