News Unfold: SRK’s film with Rohit Shetty a remake of ‘Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi’?

Another round of rumours that came flying from the cinematic circles is that the unwrapped Rohit Shetty project with Shahrukh Khan could be the remake of 1958 classic Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi. The Kishore Kumar-Madhubala starrer comedy that still lingers as one of the most feel good films of all time, may see a remake happening. So much so, it may also star Aishwarya Rai in the lead.

While there has already been a sizeable amount of uncertainty regarding the project that Rohit and Shahrukh are coming together with, this could be yet another entrant in the list of probable prospects. It was earlier reported that Rohit is remaking the Big B starrer superhit ‘Hum’. While he had approached Kajol for a film he was planning with SRK, it now becomes clear that she isn’t getting on board. Her nonappearance now makes a further speculative zone for the people. It is now being reported that Aishwarya Rai may star in the project alongside Shahrukh.

Aishwarya and Shahrukh who last worked together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas in 2002, saw a resentment when SRK ousted Aish form Chalte Chalte. If the two do come together again, it may well be a big news. Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi is one widely loved film. Recreating the magic of Kishore Da and Mudhubala on screen can be a tough ask for the crew if the project does happen. Let’s see what’s in the store.
