OMG – Oh My God director quashes reports of being offered money, supports team PK

A day ago when some interesting reports broke about the PK production offering Umesh Shukla (director of OMG) 8 crore rupees to stop shooting his film, the media and industry were taken by surprise. The similarities in the premise of PK and Paresh Rawal led OMG - Oh My God, had sparked some rumours earlier however Umesh has come out to deny any such report.

The director in an interview to a daily expressed his disappointment over such false reports and backed the team of PK. “This is all crap and I don’t know where it comes from. Aamir, Raju, Vidhu these are all good people and I respect them. If it was true, it would have been good news at the time my film was releasing but these extremists claims are purely a figment of one’s imagination,” he quoted. The director then added by praising the likes of team PK and told how much he loved the film. “I watched it on Monday and loved it. The whole premise was so interesting and the performances were just so good, Abhijat is a good friend of mine and I like watching his work,” he added.

On being asked about the similarities in the film, a gentle Umesh had his reasons to state. “There is no reason to make a fuss out of it. When you make a movie on romance, it’s obvious to out in I love you hence when you’re making a film on God, similarities are bound to happen. One must respect one’s virtue of creativity without making a deal out of it,” Shukla said.
