Updated : April 06, 2016 11:03 AM IST From the time when Anupam Kher has tweeted that he feels humbled to be awarded with Padma Bhushan award, the tweet that he did years back in 2010 is creating a buzz on social media. In the tweet, Kher has questioned the reliability of the Padma awards. The tweet was posted on January 26, 2010.
AWARDS in our country have become a mockery of our system. There is NO authenticity left in any one of them.B it films, National or now PADMA

Apparently, Anupam had been unhappy in 2010 when Ghulam Mohammad Mir, who is described as the first counter-insurgent of Kashmir and has been accused in cases of extortion and attempted murder, was awarded Padma Sri, which is one of the highest civilian awards of the nation. Yesterday, it was announced that the honour of third largest civilian award Padma Bhushan will be conferred to Anupam Kher. Humbled and honoured Bollywood actor, soon after the announcement tweeted, “Happy, Humbled & Honoured to share that i have been awarded The PADMA BHUSHAN by the Govt. of India. Greatest news of my life”.
