Paresh Rawal to enact Narendra Modi in his biopic?

Reports are doing rounds that a biopic on BJP’s PM candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is in the making and Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal has been roped in for the lead character. In 2012 Rawal also accompanied the leader in his campaigns during Gujarat state elections.

The biopic will shed light on Modi’s journey from a common man to the Gujarat Chief Minister as it has caught the attention of NRI filmmaker Mitesh Patel. Patel has planned to make a Rs. 40-crore film on the leader’s life. As the present political scenario claims, there would not be a better time to make this film. But it’s strictly maintained that the biopic is not at all made with an intention of image building for Modi ahead of the 2014 Assembly elections.

The idea of making this film came to Patel’s mind two years ago. Last week only he met Modi in Gandhinagar. Patel, who will produce the project with Rawal, said, "He said, 'You can make it'.” Patel further said, "The elections are coming, and I think its perfect timing for my film.” He insisted that the movie’s main focus will be on Modi’s stunning progress from a tea stall worker to a magnanimous political personality. Patel, who belongs to Baroda, also said, "I am very impressed by his progress, so my movie is based on him and his struggle. I wish to give a positive message through the film. I have met him and explained my idea to him, and he said, 'Okay'.” The shooting is supposed to begin from February next year.
