Pooja Bhatt Reveals Plot Of Sadak 2

Time and again there have been discussions about the sequel of 1991’s super hit flick, Sadak. Rumours were doing the rounds that the flick will have Sanjay Dutt as the male lead while actress Alia Bhatt will play his daughter. Pooja Bhatt , who played the female lead in the flick, has now confirmed that Sadak 2 is in the pipeline and the makers will start working on it soon.

On the World Mental Health Day, where Pooja was present to explore an award-winning film The Valley, she said that the second part of the film will deal with the issue of depression. “We are making Sadak 2 in which we are showing Sanjay Dutt in his true and present time (Sanjay Dutt is Drug Abuse Survivor) so we are dealing with issue of depression in that film but we are making a commercial film,” Pooja said. She added, “We have to make our point and we chose film as our medium because when you choose a mainstream format then your message goes deeper and wider.”

Mahesh Bhatt directorial Sadak showed Sanjay Dutt playing a young man who was madly in love with a sex worker, played by Pooja Bhatt, and fights against all odds to get her. About her opinion on the recent trend in Bollywood where content-driven films are working at the box-office more than big-budgeted films with a huge star cast, Pooja said, “Audience has been always smart. We, who call ourselves experts of the industry, supposedly underestimate the audience and say that they are not ready to see issue-based films.” Pooja last produced Cabaret, which starred Richa Chadha and Gulshan Devaiah . The movie was slated to release in 2016, however it is yet to see light of the day.
