Prawaal Raman to make film on a politician’s love life

Filmmaker Prawaal Raman is all set to direct a film based on politician Ajay Kumar’s life. After earning an MBBS degree, Dr. Ajay Kumar cleared IPS exam. He served Jamshedpur as an IPS officer and was successful in reducing the crime rate in the city. Kumar’s praiseworthy work fetched him the title of ‘encounter specialist’. However, Ajay Kumar left the police service and joined Tata Motors as a senior executive in 2011. In the same year, he got elected as the MP (Member of Parliament) in the 15th Lok Sabha, from the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency. He, however, lost the election for the 16th Lok Sabha in 2014.

The film will emphasis on his love life and portray his wife in an important role. "This isn't another cop tale or a biopic. It is a love story that plays out against the backdrop of organised crime and politics. It focuses as much on Ajay as his better half, Reena Arya," says Prawaal. The director met Randeep Hooda and Chitrangada Singh to play the role of Kumar and Reena respectively. Randeep Hooda seems excited for the role. "Both are fine actors and apt for the parts. Also, it's a pairing we haven't seen before," says Prawaal.

Prawaal has worked on the script for two years. He is all prepared to launch his project early next year. Currently, the director is busy with post production work of his movie, Main Aur Charles. Main Aur Charles is supposed to be a film based on serial killer Charles Sobhraj and his prison break from Tihar Jail. Actor Randeep Hooda would be portraying the lead role in the film.
