Priyanka Chopra celebrates her 31st birthday today

The bold and beautiful actress of Bollywood, National Award winning Priyanka Chopra has turned 31 today. After announced as the winner of Miss World pageant in 2000, the Desi Girl never required looking back throughout her career so far.

Born on July 18, 1982 in Jamshedpur, Priyanka became an international figure after winning the prestigious Miss World title in the very beginning of her career. The 31-year-old opted for a career in Bollywood and debuted with a bang in 2002 with Andaaz which helped her win the Filmfare Award for Best Debut. After a string of flops at the box-office, finally her venture opposite Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi emerged as a superhit. She also received huge critical acclaim for her negative role in Aitraaz. This fame too couldn’t last long and she underwent a downfall in her career once again for a long time. Then finally she regained her position in the industry with Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish and Farhan Akhtar-Shah Rukh Khan’s Don in 2006.

Her acting prowess and onscreen magnificence proved with a blast in Madhur Bhandarkar's Fashion in 2008. The story of Meghna Mathur and the realistic portrayal of the Indian fashion industry were well-received by the audience and Priyanka’s brilliance moved the critics to a large extent. She was showered with the National Film Award, the Filmfare Award, the IIFA Award, the Screen Award and the Apsara Award for Best Actress. Another blockbuster came from Priyanka’s kitty in the same year, Dostana. Then she carried on with her success story with Kaminey, 7 Khoon Maaf, Agneepath and the latest one, Barfi!. Priyanka has been unanimously appreciated for her portrayal of Jhilmil, a woman suffering from autism. Lately she has also been famous as a rising singing star. Her first single In My City has been a commercial success in India, though it didn’t fare well at the international forum. The starlet has recently released her second single Exotic featuring rapper Pitbull and is said to be doing well among her listeners. Her kitty is almost jam-packed with movies like Planes, Zanjeer, Toofan, Krrish 3, Gunday, Mary Kom’s biopic and Milan Talkies.
