Priyanka Chopra To Play P.T Usha In Her Biopic?

It seems that bringing life of sports personalities on screen interest filmmakers more. Though many biopics in Bollywood have been made, but majority have focused on the life of sports people. So far filmmakers like Omung Kumar, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Tony D'Souza, Neeraj Pandey, Nitesh Tiwari among others have depicted the struggles of sports people in achieving their position.

And now there is one more filmmaker who has shown her keen interest in making a biopic on sports personality. Well she is none other than Revathi S. Varmha, famous for directing movies like June R in Tamil and Maad Dad in Malayalam. Revathi has said that she would be interested in directing a biopic on ace athlete and Olympian P.T. Usha.

“I have been working on the biopic for the last few years. It wasn’t easy to convince P.T. Usha. Each time I approached her, she said the time wasn’t right! She wanted to see an Indian with a gold medal in athletics in the Olympics, only after which she was ready to say ‘yes’ to the biopic. I somehow persuade her and we signed on the agreement six months ago,” Revathy said.

And we have heard that the director is in negotiation with Priyanka Chopra to portray P.T. Usha in the film. Priyanka has earlier acted in a biopic Mary Kom , which is based on the life of boxer Mary Kom. Revathy also said that the movie will be made in multiple languages such as English, Hindi, Chinese and Russian besides other Indian languages. Oscar winner A.R. Rahman has been roped in to render tunes to the film.
