Raju Hirani in two minds over Sajnay Dutt Biopic??

Just a few days after we learned that Ranbir Kapoor is more than interested in playing Sanjay Dutt in a Biopic to be directed by Rajkumar Hirani, we now hear that the filmmaker is not completely sure to go ahead with the project.

It had been unofficially announced that Raju was apparently looking to film Sanjay Dutt’s real life story with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead but has all this while kept us guessing. Ranbir in an interview declared that he was keen on being cast as Sanju Baba and that no actor would ever miss an opportunity to work with Raju Hirani, “To portray Sanju sir on screen is a big task. And it comes with huge responsibility. He’s had a very entertaining, engaging, and a roller-coaster kind of life. We (him and Hirani) have had an informal meeting. But I think Raju sir himself hasn’t decided if he wants to do it or not. It will be exciting to work with Raju sir, and to portray Sanjay Dutt on the big screen,” said a very excited Ranbir. About the delay in further shape ups, the actor said “Unfortunately, when we started talking about it, Sanju sir was in jail. So we haven’t had a chance to talk. But when I was growing up, Sanju sir would tell me, “If anybody makes a film on my life, I would like you to play [me].” That’s always been a big compliment. I love him dearly. So it will be very exciting.”

With credentials of a Munna Bhai series along with a 3 idiots, the audiences are largely awaiting Raju’s move towards this project. The filmmaker is right now busy wrapping up Aamir Khan starrer Peekay which is scheduled to release on 19th of December this year. As far as the Biopic goes, we’d like watching Ranbir play Sanju Baba on big screen for sure.
