Ranbir-Katrina Break Up Didn’t Affect ‘Jagga Jasoos’, Says Anurag Basu

The unexpected break up of Bollywood star couple Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif is said to have affected Anurag Basu’s long-delayed flick ‘Jagga Jasoos’ in some way or the other. Recently, the director was asked whether he was worried about the infamous split affecting his movie. The filmmaker confessed being nervous.

“I did, on the first day when the news broke out and they came to the set. But on that very day, I realised that they are trying to concentrate more, and that has really helped me as a director. I’m being very selfish and it must have been very difficult for both of them, but they were actually trying very hard to be professional for the first two-three days and after that it was fine”, Anurag revealed in a chat show.

“It never affected the film. It’s not that I’m giving a very political correct answer but this is a fact”, the director added. So what exactly affected the film? Well, let’s hear it straight from the horse’s mouth. “It’s tough. In between, there were frustrating times, but we were so much in love with the film that we didn’t want to compromise. In hindsight, this film would have taken this much time only, because it is a musical. Even if I had the soundtrack ready for the entire film earlier, I think it would have taken the same time”.

The musical adventure romantic comedy has been in the making ever since the release of ‘Barfi!’ (2012) and is finally slated for release on July 14.
