Raveena Tandon Wants Change In Laws For Rapists, Requests Maneka Gandhi

The film marks her comeback to acting with a full-fledged role after many years. The movie that deals with the consequences of a rape and what a survivor goes through got positive reviews from the critics as well as from the fans.
The actress recently tweeted to Indian Union Cabinet Minister for Women & Child Development, Maneka Gandhi and requested for a change in the law for rapists. Raveena tweeted a photograph of a news article which read “watchman held for rape bid on elderly woman in Andheri flat”, along with the tweet, “To some of those who found " #Maatr" queasy..that was the intention,to disturb.But below is Harsh reality.Time to Act.@Manekagandhibjp”.
The Union Cabinet Minister for Women & Child Development replied humbly. She replied, “Yes, @TandonRaveena ji. I am also as appalled by such incidents. We are working to change the mindset through a number of initiatives”. The conversation ended with Raveena saying, “Yes ma, law amendments steps need to b taken aggressively. Fast track courts, nonbailable offences, eg set in conviction if proved guilty”.
