Recent comedies consist more of sub-standard punches, says Om Puri

--Yesteryear comedian Om Puri, said that current Bollywood comediesconsist more of sub-standard jokes and punches. "Such movies do not have a proper plot orstory and fail to deliver any message to the masses," said Puri while speaking at the MediaInternational Film Festival organized by the Institute of Mass Communication and MediaTechnology at Kurukshetra University here. He walks down the memory lane when theatreactors dominated Bollywood and now the commercial cinema does the same too in a way. Healso commented that South Indian industry had a great impact on Bollywood for remakes. LeelaSamson, Chairperson of Central Board of Film Certification, said that amendments should bemade in The Cinematograph Act, 1952 as the Censor Board followed an older methodology ofissuing certificates.
