Saif ‘not’ playing safe for Happy Ending

Saif Ali Khan is definitely one of the most talented people of the B-town. However, this year has not been very lucky for the charming actor as chhote nawab’s Hamshakals failed badly at the box-office. Even  last year, his filmBullett Raja failed to impress the audiences. So, is he playing safe for his next flick which is all set to hit theatres today?

"I believe there is no such thing as playing safe. If people see me in a repetitive role they will find it boring," says the actor during the film's promotion.

He further adds, "Audiences don't blame you for trying. They see that you have tried something new and have pushed the envelope. In fact, media also respects it as I believe the press plays an important role in policing several things including art. They can tell you if you are making something rubbish." 

Talking about his journey through ups and downs, the 44 year old actor says, "I had two hits -- Race 2 and Cocktail -- so I thought let me try and do different things. I was like let me do Tigmanshu's Bullett Raja which has a rustic role, has action. And also do a comedy which the whole India will enjoy and I was like 'lets have fun with Sajid'." 

"India is in expansion mode with an attitude that 'stop portraying old things and stereos'. I believe anything regressive will get abused and it should be," the optimistic actor says smartly. We wonder if Happy Ending will manage to keep him happy.
