Salman Khan gets a green signal for UK
Updated : April 30, 2014 03:05 PM ISTBollywood’s most desirable hunk Salman Khan has cleared his way to UK as Rajasthan High Court has put a stay on Salman’s five years imprisonment, sentenced by a lower court for poaching. Khan was sentenced to 1-year and 5-year prison terms for hunting two Chinkaras at Bhawad and one Blackbuck at Ghoda Farm, who are protected species.
UK Embassy stamped Khan’s passport as a convict because according to British immigration rules, a person convicted for more than four years cannot apply for a visa. Now as the lower court order has been stayed, he can apply for a fresh British visa. According to a counsel Lekh Raj Mehta, "We had moved an application in the High Court seeking a stay on his conviction order. After Khan`s visa for UK expired recently and he filed for a fresh visa, he was denied the same because of the conviction order." Other actors, who are charged with same assertions, are Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam. They were accused of poaching when they were shooting for Hum Saath Saath Hain.
