Sanjay Dutt biopic looks confirmed! Ranbir to take lead while Raju Hirani to direct

Months ago when we had reported about a Sanjay Dutt biopic being planned, there were enough elements to quash the reports and term them baseless. As it turns out, the report seems to be getting confirmed now. The sources within the industry have confirmed that Sanjay Dutt biopic is being made and no one but Raju Hirani himself is directing the project with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead.

There are no details revealed about this apparent shape up and the entire scene is only setting up a prerogative for the producers and the team. Raju who has directed Sanju in the very amicable Munnabhai series is considered very close to the actor and his family. Ranbir too looks up to Sanjay as a role model and he will look forward to playing him on screen. This could also be an interesting prospect since Raju Hirani takes a substantial amount of time before starting a new film. Now that his PK will release by the year end, we wonder how long he will take to kick start this one.
