Shaukeen to hit silver screen on November 7

An Abhishek Sharma directorial, the remake of Basu Chatterjee’s 1982 classic comedy film Shaukeen, is coming up to hit the screens in the first week of November with title The Shaukeens. The movie features the trio of Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Anupam Kher in lead roles alongside Lisa Haydon and Akshay Kumar.

Anupam Kher took Twitter to share the release date of the movie, “Happy to announce the release date of #TheShaukeens. It is 7th Nov. Be ready for this fantasy ride. Jai Ho.:) @HaydonLisa @annukapoor_”, he tweeted on Wednesday. Lisa Haydon also shared her excitement over Twitter saying, “Got the most FANTASTIC phone call! #TheShaukeens releases 7thNovember. Can't wait2share this film w/all of u cuz we had such fun making it!”

The storyline of the old classic movie revolves around three lecherous old men who try to get lucky with young girl Rati Agnihotri, which is now being played by Lisa Haydon. Akshay Kumar is taking on the role which was originally portrayed by Mithun Chakraborty.

The release date of the movie is likely to clash with Action Jackson starring Ajay Devgn who had earlier postponed its release from June to November to avoid clashing with another Akshay Kumar movie, Holiday: A Soldier Is Never off Duty.
