Shraddha Kapoor And Disha Patani Demand A Hefty Fee To Star Opposite Prabhas In Saaho!

Baahubali’s path breaking success has made Prabhas the latest sensation—not just in regional films, but in Bollywood too. Maybe that’s why leading ladies from the film industry are queuing up to star opposite Prabhas. Reports were doing the rounds that for Prabhas’s next film, Saaho, makers approached Bollywood actors Shraddha Kapoor and Disha Patani for the lead role. Much to their surprise, both the actors quoted hefty fee, leaving the producers baffled.

Apparently, producers wanted to cast a Bollywood actor only to add a pan-India appeal to the film but looks like things aren’t working out. As per reports, Shraddha Kapoor asked for a whopping Rs 8 crore as her fee, while Disha Patani demanded Rs 5 crore —despite the fact that the two actors haven’t had a great graph at the box office.

Talking about Shraddha, whose last two films Rock on 2 (2016) and OK Jaanu (2017) bombed at the box office, DNA quoted an insider as saying, “Shraddha was our first choice. She heard us out and was almost jumping with excitement during the narration. Then, she quoted a price and we were shocked. We don’t pay that kind of money to actors in Telugu cinema. But she wouldn’t budge. She was like, ‘I love the script and I’d love to work with Prabhas. But the price remains unchanged.’ We fled.”

As for MS Dhoni: The Untold Story actor Disha Patani, makers felt that since she started her career in Telugu cinema, she would be keen to do the project as it stars Prabhas. But they were again in for a not-so-pleasant surprise.

Also, it’s being said that Disha not only asked for a lot of money, but was rude to the makers. “She wouldn’t meet us. When she finally did, she said she’d let us know. Later, her team members informed us that she liked the script, but would want Rs. 5 crore as her fee. We want to know which Bollywood producer pays Disha that kind of money?” the source was quoted as saying.

Other names that have been considered for the lead role include actors Katrina Kaif, Pooja Hegde and Kriti Sanon, but sadly, nothing worked out. Reportedly, the production team is now done with Bollywood actresses and feels that with Prabhas, they don’t need any of them and would cast a Telugu actor only.
