SRK never inquired about story or fee before signing my films: Yash Chopra

The bond between veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra and his favourite actor from the present generation, Shah Rukh Khan, is already known to everyone, now theJab Tak Hai Jaandirector has revealed that whenever he had offered a film to SRK in the past two decades he never sought to know the story or the fees he would be paid. Shah Rukh Khan has done over half-a-dozen films with Yash Raj Banner, includingDarr, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil To Pagal Hai, Mohabbatein, Veer ZaaraandRab Ne Bana Di Jodi,and is also working in Yashji’s comeback film --Jab Tak Hai Jaan,which is reportedly the last directorial venture of the legendary filmmaker. Chopra said about SRK on his 80^thbirthday yesterday, "I have always had great experience working with him. He is one actor who has never asked me what the story is about, how much money he will charge...whatever amount I send him through cheque he takes that and rather asks me why I gave such a huge amount". "He does not meet me before we start shooting, he says I don't want to know the story, don't want to talk about money so why to meet. It is all because he has faith in me," he added.

Answering why he took eight years gap before returning to direction, he said, "AfterVeer ZaaraI wanted to make something different and nice....soul-touching film. That is when I told Aditya, my son, that I want to direct a film. This film is a gift to me by Aditya. He told me 'make the film dad and I am there to provide all kind of help'". Yashji also announced that this will be his last film as a director. "I have always lived according to what my heart tells me. I won't make any film afterJab Tak Hai Jaan."
