Staggering 10 million and counting on Twitter! A paramount feat for Big B

Amitabh Bachchan became the first Indian to have 10 million followers on Twitter on Sunday. The colossal figure was never achieved by any Indian celebrity before Mr. Bachchan who also expressed his excitement through a tweet of his. “10 MILLION !! ON TWITTER !! YEEAAAHH !! Thank you all that follow me .. ! Next target 20 !!”, he tweeted.

Though a lot of Indian celebrities use twitter including all the A-listers of cinema, the number of followers as compared to western stars have been very less. Singing diva Katy Parry recently left Justin Beiber behind to have the most number of followers on twitter worldwide. She holds more than 56 million followers. Talking about Indian celebs, next in race to Big B is Shahrukh Khan with 8.75 million followed by Aamir and Salman with 8.14 and 8.01 respectively. Besides cinema, Sachin Tendulkar has the maximum followers being a sportsman with 4.5 million followers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has 6.09 million followers, more than any other politician in the country. He is also one of the most followed political figure worldwide. Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni has 3 million followers.
